Since my last blog post about Donald Trump I have become more involved in the American election, not only because I've felt the need to read more about it but it has also become an extremely heated topic. And so here we are the day before the election. You might not see it as a big deal since there is an election every 4 years but this election is a huge deal. It might even be huger than the wall that might be built.
So why is this election so important? For me this election will show whether the world has come as far as we claim that it has or if we are simply taking several steps back. Regardless your political opinions there are certain things that these candidates represent. Hillary Clinton would be the first female president in America which would show that equal rights has come a long way since 100 or even just 20 years ago. If Donald Trump wins it shows that the Americans are ok with voting for a man who seems to think that it is acceptable to speak about women however he wants because it's just "locker room talk". I have to admit, both Trump and Clinton have flaws, massive ones and this election has become between voting between two evils and it will come down to voting for the better of the worst but the last thing I would want this world to become is a world that doesn't make any progress.
I strongly believe that people should vote based on their political opinions but this election has gone far away from that. The 3 presidential debates have been a circus. It's been like watching people throwing pie at each other. Clinton trying to defend her email scandal and relating to every single person and Trump focusing more on Bill Clinton's scandals than his own values, if he even has any.
I'm not the one to tell you who to vote for but if anyone you knew said something like this:
“You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass.”
“The beauty of me is that I’m very rich.”

you would probably laugh it off but then think; gosh this person is such a twat (excuse my language). So do you really want that person to be the president of your country? If you do, I think I need to worry a lot more about this world than I thought I did.
This election will show whether people are going to sit back and accept a racist, sexist, self-centered ass to rule their country and if they do I guess it's time to reevaluate if we are actually taking steps forward or if we're simply going back to being apes.
