I am not a massive politics geek. To be honest I try to avoid politics as much as I can because it tends to annoy me more than it interests me. Just to clarify, this doesn't mean I don't care about voting or what happens in the world but I simply try to avoid getting involved in the discussion. This has changed, however, this year with the election in America happening. Mostly because the fear of Donald Trump winning the election has made me realize that some people clearly don't share the same opinion as me. We all have the right to have our own opinions but it's got to the point when I believe people aren't actually considering what could happen when you vote for someone that very clearly doesn't have the people's best in mind but wants to turn the country into a business.
Don't get me wrong, I am fully aware of that some parts of politics involve treating the country as a business since a country needs to be financially stable and this can only be done if the country has a stable income. What Donald Trump seem to forget is that living in America aren't people's careers, it's their home and a place where they shouldn't have to work to feel safe. A country is in the need of a stable income but it is also in need for an understanding of what's best for the people, not the country. If the citizens are happy and living a good life there is a much better chance that the country will be able to succeed. Correct me if I'm wrong but logically if more people are happy and well it means that more people can work and less people would need medical care which definitely helps the economy of the country. Donald Trump doesn't care about this though, he wants to make America great again by making the Americans pay for it, and not to forget the rest of the world too.
The main criticism people seem to have against Donald Trump is his immigration policy, preventing muslims to come to America and building a wall to prevent Mexicans to immigrate, you all know the deal. As someone who has witnessed the world's reaction to Israel building a wall I can safely say that this isn't the solution, it's just causing more problems. Historically, building walls has not solved anything (another example is the Berlin wall). I am fully aware that these walls have been built for different reasons but separating countries goes against what we have been working towards for decades. Globalisation is a part of the world and working against it is like taking 10 steps back in the world's development. But then again, Brexit is happening too which also goes against all that global exchange we've built up, but that's for another time. Not only does Trump's values go against globalisation but it is pure racism and unfortunately the shooting in Orlando only helped Trump's argument but we can't let one person speak for all Muslims because we all know that it's wrong.
This brings me to gun control in America. Trump believes that laws against guns aren't going to stop shootings and he says that mass shootings are mental health issues:
Q: Should there be a sense of urgency on gun control?
Trump: The way I look at it, you take Chicago, you take Baltimore, you take various other places where you have tremendous gun violence and death, right? The strictest laws in the United States-- in the world-- for guns happens to be Chicago where they have a lot of problems. Baltimore, a lot of the places where you have the biggest problem is where they have the strongest laws. So I don't think it's about laws.
Q: But local laws without a national floor are pointless.
Trump: It really is mental health problem.
Q: You don't believe that we have too many guns?
Trump: Well, for example, the school at which the last mass shooting occurred was a gun-free zone and you were not allowed to have guns there. You could make the case that it would have been a lot better had people had guns because they could fire back.

Regardless what the reasons are for people murdering innocent people, this could be prevented easily if there were less guns in the country. If there was no access to buy a gun legally then there would be no guns to shoot with, simple as that.
I could go on and on about the things I dislike about Donald Trump but the thing that bothers me the most is the fact that he keeps pointing out that all attention is good attention. Just as late as today he retweeted this: "@VoteTrumpMAGA: The media attack on @realDonaldTrump is relentless. They are desperate. But, they keep #Trump in the news - a good thing."
Trump doesn't care what he has to do to get attention and do we really want someone who simply wants attention to rule one of the most powerful countries in the world? Shouldn't we have learnt from our history, power mad people don't want what's best for the country, they want power and they will do anything they can to get there even if this means sacrificing people on the way.
