My Confusion and I

I don't do film reviews, not because I don't like sharing my experience but because I usually don't have much to say about the films. However, after just finishing second year I feel more confident and I also actually have opinions about the Great Gatsby so I hereby introduce my first film review. I finished reading The Great Gatsby about 2 months ago and when I read it is was only for my own sake which meant that I probably didn't pay as much attention to the details as I would have done if it was for school as many people had too. However I think the film managed to stay quite accurate to the book. There were scenes in the film that probably could have been made shorter and some needed more explanations to make the audience understand what they actually contribute. I guess this is a problem with all film adaptations of books. During the time in university we are constantly told that we need to get a good degree to be able to get anywhere in life. If we don't get good marks on our exams, we aren't dedicated enough. If we get stressed before an essay is due, we don't plan well enough and if we don't show up to a 9AM lecture we are lazy students that party all night and only care about getting drunk. This view on students is something I've got to hear for 2 years now and it is starting to bug me a bit to be honest, not because there aren't students like that but for the fact that not everyone are like that. We are all simply being put into the same group and judged by the fact that we are students. Our marks on exams, essays and us being tired in the morning depends on many other things than the ones I previously pointed out.
